It was the first time a vocalist was the center of attention and primary detail of Hip Hop music. Rapper’s Delight by The Sugarhill Gang changed the course of music and Hip Hop as a whole forever. The first hit rap record was born in 1979. Rhyming words, which eventually led to what we know today emceeing, or ‘rap music’, came later down the line.
